Joan-Alice received her B.S. and Certificate in Physical Therapy from Boston University's Sargent College of Allied Health Professions in 1969, her M.S. in Counseling from the University of Hartford in 1978 and her Psy. D. from Antioch New England Graduate School in 2002. The title of her dissertation was Physical Touch: Psychologists' Decision Dilemma. Dr. Taylor is a fellow in the American Board of Disability Analysts. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Connecticut in addition to her License in Physical Therapy. She is a Certified Bioenergetic Therapist and has graduated from the Hartford Family Institute Body-Oriented Gestalt Therapy Training program. Dr. Taylor started her private practice in 1983 after extensive experience in hospitals and rehabilitation settings. Because of her particular interest in the body-mind connection, she believed that private practice was the way to truly helping the "whole person" who came for treatment. The blending of physical therapy, psychotherapy, and therapeutic massage make the practice unique, broad based, and diverse. |
